"Tunes of Glory," GHS Educational Trust Announces WebSite and Recent Gifts

With great Scotty pride, the Glasgow High School Educational Trust announces its new website at ghsedutrust.org. This service makes it possible for students to print applications and supporters to print donation forms, anytime and anywhere Internet access is available. The site also features a brief history of the trust, contact information for the trustees, recent news, old photographs from annuals, and links to KLTZ, the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Glasgow Public Schools, and GlasgowMontana.com. It is one more example of the trust’s ongoing commitment to help GHS graduates achieve their educational dreams.

Established by the Class of 1938 in 1964, the trust now holds assets of over $2.4 million dollars. The interest earned on them is awarded semi-annually through an application process administered by the trustees. Students who apply by June 15th of each year are eligible for awards for both semesters of the upcoming school year. Those who apply by October 15th are awarded gifts for the spring semester only.

The gifts are based primarily on need, not scholarship, and any GHS graduate who is in good academic standing and making steady progress towards completion may apply. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of vocational/technical school or one year of college to be eligible. Students may reapply after their first awards, and many have received several gifts over the course of their education. To date,  the total value of these gifts is $1,011,650 dollars.

Whenever the trust receives donations that total $500 or more in honor, memory, or recognition of a particular individual or family, a gift is made in that name. Donations of $10,000 or more entitle the donor to an annual naming opportunity. All gifts are tax-deductible and no gift is too small.
